GFF-0454 Moccas Park NNR is extended and renamed to Moccas Park and Gillian’s Wood NNR. The additional area added to the NNR is shown as hatched area shown in pic. This has not been updated on Magic Maps yet.

Purbeck Heaths NNR – Boundaries
The Purbeck Heaths NNR created several years ago covers or overlaps with four existing references with boundaries currently unclear. We’ve now produced a map to show how the new reserve interacts with existing boundaries.
One of the main areas of confusion surrounds GFF -0098 Arne NNR which sits outside of the Purbeck NNR, but also includes Arne RSPB which straddles both areas. For the sake of clarity, we have allocated all of the Arne RSPB area to GFF-0098 regardless of which NNR it sits in. We have also given Brownsea Island, which was not in a reference prior to the creation of the Purbeck Heaths NNR it’s own GFF reference
As a result the following reference has been added to the Directory

For clarity the following references have also been renamed

The following references have been added to the Directory, reflecting the spread of sites that make up the new Mendip NNR

Two existing references included in the new NNR have been renamed to:
- GFF-0183 Mendip NNR – Ebbor Gorge
- GFF-0188 Mendip NNR – Rodney Stoke
The NNR brings together over 30 managed areas, whilst some are adjacent and create continous areas, others are well spread across an area West from Ebbor Gorge to the coast as Weston- super- Mare. A map is attached with more detail. Magic Maps is updated with this NNR.
Directory Changes – Coronation Coast
The following reference has been added to the directory
- GFF-0514 Lincolnshire Coronation Coast NNR
It incorporates two existing references Saltfleetby- Theddlethorpe Dunes GFF 0149 and Donna Nook GFF – 0474, which will be deleted from the directory and no longer be available to activate. A map of the new area is shown below.
GFF-0415 Axmouth to Lyme Regis Undercliffs NNR
There has been a change in site are to this NNR with an additional area being added to the reserve (shown as hatched area on this map). Please note it may take a while for MagicMap to show this update.
GFF-0084 Finglandrigg Woods NNR
There has been a change in site are to this NNR with an additional area being added to the reserve (shown as hatched area on this map). Please note it may take a while for MagicMap to show this update.
GFF-0453 Tarn Moss NNR
There has been a small change to the site area of Tarn Moss (Oct 23 ) . The cross hatched area is no longer managed as part of the NNR and no longer counts as part of the reference. Please note this it may take sometime before Magic Map catches up with this change.
National Landscapes
The renaming of all AoNBs in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to National Landscapes https://national-landscapes.org.uk/…/welcome-to… has now been reflected in the directory with all areas now having the suffix NL. In practical terms nothing has really changed and much signage and info on the web still uses the old titles.
New GxFF Annual Activator Award
Team GxFF are delighted to announce the launch from tomorrow of a new series of annual activator awards. Awards will be given for the activation of 11, 22, 33, 44, and 55 plus references in each calender year. References activated in previous years can be reactivated each calendar year, counting towards the new year’s annual total. Awards will be claimable via logsearch, by selecting the relevant year (2023 on) from the drop down. We’ll publish the designs for the awards soon.
